Former President John Agyekum Kufuor received a rousing welcome in Parliament as Minority Members of Parliament (MPs) hailed him during the introduction stage of President John Dramani Mahama's 2025 State of the Nation Address.
When Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin mentioned Kufuor's name, Minority MPs, dressed in black, stood up and chanted "Paapa oo denden!"-a phrase meaning "Great father"-while cheering the former president.
Kufuor's presence in the chamber added to the charged atmosphere as President Mahama delivered his first State of the Nation Address since returning to office for a second term.
