Legal tensions continue to mount as interested party Lawyer Bernard Bediako insists that Ernest Yaw Kumi, the Member of Parliament for Akwatia, remains a convict despite ongoing proceedings at the Supreme Court.
Speaking in an interview with GHOne TV's court correspondent, Murtala Inusah, after a court session, Bediako explained the complexities surrounding Kumi's legal status.
According to him, the Supreme Court raised concerns about whether Kumi, the applicant in the case, should even be granted a hearing at the apex court.
This is due to his prior conviction for contempt of court following his failure to comply with court orders. "The court was of the view that when such a situation arises, the sanctity of the court is at stake.
