The Ashanti Regional Cadres Chairman of the opposition NDC, Alhaji Muntari Alhassan, together with his entire executive team, have defected to the ruling NPP. They have also, as a matter of principle, severed all ties with their former party, urging their teeming supporters to do the same, for the interest of their children's future. Not only did Alhaji Muntari and his executives turn their backs on the party they have served all their lives, but their entire families have also deserted the NDC. The announcement by the NDC's strong pillar and his executives has not only sent shivers down the spine of supporters of the opposition party but has shaken the core foundation of the party in the region. According to the former NDC crowd puller, their decision to join the ruling party started in 2017, when the government, true to its campaign promise, introduced the Free Senior High School policy and other pro-poor policies.
