Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor has vehemently rejected claims of being biased and unfair in his dealings in coordinating the vetting process.

His statement comes in response to allegations levelled against him by the Minority Leader and Ranking Member of the Committee, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.

During the vetting of the Deputy Attorney-General and Minister of Justice-designate, Justice Srem-Sai, a moment of tension arose between Afenyo-Markin and Ahiafor.

The exchange, which occurred during what had been a largely smooth vetting process, highlighted concerns over procedural conduct and decorum within the committee as the Ranking Member had requested the Minister-Designate to do a traditional dance.
