A prominent figure of the (NPP), Iddrisu Musah Superior, has emphasised the importance of electing good leaders with the necessary qualities to make the party attractive and attractive for election in the 2028 general elections.
In a statement on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, he said that the party needs assertive and strong leadership capable of inspiring unity and collaboration, while also instilling strong principles into its members.
He cautioned against electing just anyone to lead the party, specifically highlighting the risks posed by individuals who prioritise their personal interests over those of the party.
He warned that such leaders, who could be easily manipulated or influenced by power-hungry individuals, might undermine the party and lead to detrimental consequences. "We don't only need strong, brave and firm leadership to lead, manage and oversee the affairs of the NPP from now till December 2028, we also need assertive, sincere, truthful and trustworthy persons who will not be held by personal feelings or opinions, yield to 'God-fathers' or influence peddlers or be manipulated by backstage 'power brokers,'" he stated.
