Speaking at The Western Region Development Dialogue, Eugene Ofori Atta, CEO of Architectural Spring Ltd, outlined bold proposals aimed at addressing challenges in education and healthcare.
With a focus on balancing the Free SHS policy, he suggested that students whose parents pay school fees should be given a shorter National Service duration as an incentive. "There should be incentives for those willing to pay school fees. "One idea I've considered is linking the duration of National Service to the policy-students who benefit from Free SHS could serve for two years, while those whose parents pay their fees would complete just one year.
This could encourage a balance, allowing those who can afford to pay to do so," he stated.
On healthcare, Ofori Atta stressed the need for a decentralized system that brings quality medical services closer to communities.
