The Queen of the Ga-Adangme Muslim Union (Nungua West), Lawrencia Naa Borley Nelson, known as Naa Gamu, has died after being shot during her enskinment ceremony in Nungua, Accra.
The incident occurred on Saturday when a musketry fired during the ceremony struck her in the thigh.
Naa Gamu and her husband were being enskinned as queen and chief of the Ga-Adangme Muslim Union's Nungua West branch at the time of the shooting.
While the motive behind the gunshot remains unclear, the family has confirmed the arrest of a suspect as investigations continue.
