The Convention People's Party (CPP) has officially distanced itself from a legal action filed at the Supreme Court on Monday, February 24, 2025, by the Democracy Hub against the Attorney General.

In a disclaimer signed by its General Secretary, Comrade Kwame Nkrumah Botsio, the party stated that it had not authorized any legal entity or individual to list it as a plaintiff in the case.

The writ, which names CPP as the first plaintiff, was filed without the party's knowledge or consent. "The Convention People's Party would like to inform Ghanaians that it has not given any legal entity its permission to use its name as a Party in the selfsame Writ, neither has it instructed any personality or corporate entity to issue the said Writ," the statement clarified.

The CPP further assured the public that it is taking necessary steps to have its name removed from the case.
