Deputy Minister-Designate for Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, has called for prudent planning in awarding scholarships to students in line with the country's budgetary constraints.
Speaking during his vetting before Parliament's Appointments Committee, he expressed concern over the delays in disbursing stipends to students studying abroad.
He emphasised the need for the Ministry of Finance to facilitate the prompt release of funds to prevent students from experiencing hardships while studying abroad.
Ampem suggested that meticulous planning is needed to ensure that scholarships are awarded within the limits of the available budget.
