Thomas Nyarko Ampem, Deputy Finance Minister-designate, has strongly rejected claims that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) opposed the One-District-One-Factory programme under the former Akufo-Addo administration.

The Akufo-Addo administration offered tax exemptions to several companies under the 1D1F-a move that faced stiff opposition from the minority in Parliament.

Appearing before Parliament's Appointments Committee on Monday, February 24, Mr.

Ampem clarified that the ruling NDC is not opposed to the programme but expressed concern over the rapid pace of tax exemptions granted. "We're not against One-District-One-Factory, but we realised that the rate at which these tax exemptions were being given out was alarming.
