The Member of (MP) for Effiduase-Asokore, Dr. , has refuted reports that he suffered defeat in the election of leaders for the Ashanti Regional caucus of the (NPP) in .
In a post shared on Facebook, on February 24, 2025, Dr.
Ayew Afriye said that even though members of the caucus wanted him to take a leadership role, he declined it.
He explained that he only helped in the reorganisation of the Ashanti NPP caucus and opted to stay out of the election of its leaders.
