Minister of State-designate for Public Sector Reforms, Lydia Akanvariba, has called for a comprehensive national dialogue on recruitment and capacity building within Ghana's public sector.

Speaking during her vetting before Parliament's Appointments Committee on Monday, February 24, she highlighted the urgent need to strengthen public institutions and improve recruitment processes to ensure efficiency and transparency. "I will be looking at training or capacity building in the public sector, and I will be focusing on building and strengthening public institutions and the way we hire people into the public sector.

We should therefore have a national dialogue on how we hire and recruit into the public sector," she said.

Madam Akanvariba stressed that strengthening public institutions begins with ensuring that the right talent is hired through fair and transparent processes.
