The Minister of State Designate for Public Sector Reforms, Lydia Akanvariba, has pledged to strengthen the public sector recruitment process and make it her top priority if approved by Parliament.

Her comment follows a government directive to revoke public sector appointments made after December 7, 2024.

This decision has sparked concerns, particularly among the parliamentary minority, who argue that the recruits were legitimately hired and that rescinding their appointments is unjust.

However, the government insists that the recruitment process was improper, justifying the revocation.
