The Appointments Committee of Parliament will commence its vetting process today, Monday, February 24, 2025 to assess President John Mahama's picks for deputy ministerial positions.

Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, the Minister of State Designate for Public Sector Reforms is billed to appear before the committee today.

Additionally, three deputy ministerial nominees-Thomas Nyarko Ampem (Finance), Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi (Interior), and Sampson Ahi (Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry)-will also face the committee.

According to Alhassan Umar, a committee member and MP for Zabzugu, the directive allowing only 10 guests per nominee will be strictly enforced to maintain order and ensure a smooth vetting process. "Tomorrow, February 24, the Appointments Committee will begin vetting the 14 nominees announced by the President three weeks ago.
