The Government of Ghana has assured the public that adequate fuel supplies have been secured to ensure a stable and reliable power supply, despite recent reports of intermittent outages in parts of the country.

Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, February 20, 2025, the Minister of State for Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, reaffirmed the government's commitment to preventing power disruptions, citing proactive measures taken to maintain a steady energy supply. "At the onset of this administration, we faced serious threats due to the closure of the West African Gas Pipeline and the prior government's failure to provide adequate fuel for thermal power generation.

We have since averted such crises by ensuring consistent fuel supplies," he stated while briefing the media on the first cabinet meeting.

He further emphasized that the Energy Minister, John Jinapor, is actively monitoring the situation and will soon engage the public to provide updates and address concerns. "It's important that from time to time, the Energy Ministry engages the public to address any concerns they may have," he added.
