Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, has acknowledged the critical role the Western Naval Command plays in protecting Ghana's territorial waters as part of its traditional duties.

He stated that the command's role necessitates close collaboration with the government to safeguard businesses and social activities connected to the sea and the country's territorial waters.

The Minister made these remarks while addressing the Western Naval Command as part of his familiarization tour of the various security commands in the region on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

According to Joseph Nelson, the economic survival of Ghanaians depends heavily on effective security coordination and social protection, both of which the command provides in partnership with the government.
