Professor Jane Naana Opoku- Agyemang, running-mate to the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Mahama, has questioned the integrity of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) plans for women in their Manifesto, describing it as a deception. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang made the remarks during her interaction with market women at the Malam Market in Accra as part of her campaign tour of markets in the national capital. "Because we have introduced our plan to establish a Women's Development Bank to provide microfinance support for women, they also say they will set up a fund for women," she was quoted as saying in a statement signed by Mr James Agyenim- Boateng, her Spokesman. Referring to the NPP's manifesto promise to set up women's empowerment bank, Prof. Opoku-Agyeman asked: "What prevents them from doing what they are saying they will do for women when they came to power?" Have they not been in government all this while?
