The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to interact with former Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Cynthia Morrison, after she decided to run as an independent candidate for the Agona West seat in the December 7, 2024 parliamentary election. The General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong emphasised the need for unity in the party as it strives to retain power and break the usual two-term limit.in government for the parties. The current member of parliament for Agona West, Cynthia Morrison, announced her independent candidacy following her defeat in the NPP parliamentary primaries. Speaking to her constituents, she declared, "God willing, I will be contesting the parliamentary election as an independent candidate. It is not about the NDC, and it is not about the NPP.
