The High Court in Accra has imposed a GH¢3,000 cost on Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the (NDC), for omitting a crucial witness in a defamation case.
Former Auditor-General Prof.
Edward Dua Agyeman sued Asiedu Nketia, also known as General Mosquito, for defamation in 2018, seeking GH¢20 million in damages.
The court, presided over by Justice Audrey Kocuvie-Tay, granted Asiedu Nketia's request to amend his pre-trial checklist to include the omitted "necessary witness." However, the court imposed the GH¢3,000 cost due to the oversight.
