The Chairman of the NDC 2024 Manifesto planning committee, Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, has praised former President John Dramani Mahama's efforts in addressing the energy crisis, popularly known as "dumsor," during his tenure. Speaking on Eyewitness News, Dr. Otokunor emphasized that Mahama's handling of the energy crisis is one of his most significant achievements. He further argued that what could not be done in over 50 years was accomplished by Mahama in just two and a half years.
"The point is that we have a president who within a matter of two years was able to double our generation capacity from the days of Nkrumah and within two and half years, he's able to double the generation capacity to almost about 4,800MW, that is an outstanding legacy.
"That is a man, that we talk about achieving possibilities, that is a man of possibilities; building a nation.
"Something that we have not been able to do in over 50 years, this man does it in two and half years and you are talking about dumsor?
