The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has sued the Government of Ghana for illegal termination of appointments.
The Chief of Staff, in a letter dated February 10, 2025 directed all public institutions to terminate all appointments after December 7, 2024.
The directive has led to the mass termination of appointments across the country with leading agencies including GRA, Ghana Water, GES, SSNIT, and Ghana Health Service among others affected.
In a post shared via social media announcing his suit said "The decision to file this lawsuit is because President John Dramani Mahama, through the Chief of Staff, does not have the constitutional authority to direct Heads of Government Institutions to revoke appointments and recruitments made within the Public Services of Ghana".
