Samson Lardy Anyenini, a renowned Ghanaian legal practitioner and broadcast journalist, has highlighted the severe personal consequences individuals face when declared "wanted" or as a "fugitive" by law enforcement.
In a Facebook post on February 18, 2025, Anyenini categorised the consequences into five key areas: Legal, Financial, Personal, Professional, and Additional Consequences.
Under the personal consequences section, he explained that one of the most significant outcomes is the loss of freedom.
According to Anyenini, being declared wanted or a fugitive often results in individuals being required to surrender their passport, which severely limits their ability to travel.
