Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested one individual following disturbances during the re-run of the Council of State election.
The election, which had to be rescheduled due to earlier disruptions, descended into chaos again when a group of unidentified individuals stormed the venue during the sorting and counting of ballots.
Eyewitnesses said the intruders forcefully entered the premises, overturning tables, damaging ballot boxes, and scattering voting materials.
The Electoral Commission (EC) was subsequently forced to suspend proceedings.
