Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has firmly rejected claims circulating on social media suggesting that the government has announced an increase in cocoa prices.
The organisation has described these reports as entirely false and urged the public to disregard them.
In response to the misinformation, COCOBOD emphasised the importance of relying solely on official communication channels for accurate updates on cocoa pricing.
A flyer widely shared on social media alleged that the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, had declared that cocoa farmers would receive 70% of the world market price.
