The immediate-past Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, has expressed concern over the challenges posed by Ghana's official language, English, in ary proceedings.

According to her, despite the National Democratic Congress (NDC) having an overwhelming Majority in , they appear to have become the Minority due to difficulties in speaking English.

In an interview on Movement TV on February 16, 2025, Fatimatu Abubakar stated that many NDC Members of (MPs) serving on parliamentary committees struggle to express themselves in English, rendering them largely silent in the chamber. "There is a saying that in all things, we should give glory to God because if this hadn't happened, we wouldn't have learned a lesson.

Someone told me, Minister, it seems the NPP looks better than the NDC in power." She added, "Now that we are in opposition, just look at , now the Minority has turned into the Majority because of English.
