Police in the Manso Adubia District are on high alert following the escape of a murder suspect, Evans Coffie, also known as Vampire, from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
The suspect, who had sustained gunshot wounds while attempting to evade arrest, was under armed guard at the hospital.
However, on February 13, 2025, at approximately 7:00 AM, he managed to flee from his hospital bed while the officer assigned to guard him, Lance Corporal James Daniel Boadi, had stepped away to retrieve medication from the pharmacy.
The officer immediately reported the escape to his station officer, Chief Inspector Nicholas Dwamena, prompting an urgent search for the fugitive.
