Renowned lawyer Thaddeus Sory has taken a firm stance against the Special Prosecutor (SP), Kissi Agyebeng, over his handling of the Ken Ofori-Atta investigation, accusing him of wasting time on media theatrics instead of focusing on legal action.

Sory's criticism follows the February 11, 2025, raid on the former Finance Minister's residence, allegedly carried out by state security operatives.

The next day, Agyebeng held a press conference denying involvement in the raid, yet went ahead to declare Ofori-Atta a fugitive of justice despite his lawyers informing the OSP that he was on medical leave in the U.S.

In a post on his Facebook page, Thaddeus Sory condemned the SP's approach, emphasizing that Ghanaian law allows for trials in absentia and that there was no need for unnecessary public declarations. "If you believe you have enough evidence to prosecute him, then proceed.
