Security agencies in Walewale, North East Region, have confirmed the deaths of four people following a violent gun attack on a commercial bus traveling along the Walewale-Tamale highway.
According to reports, the bus was en route from Widana in the Pusiga District of the Upper East Region to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region when it was ambushed by gunmen and set ablaze near Kukua Loagri.
Three adults and an infant were burned beyond recognition.
Security officials revealed that the bus had developed a mechanical fault overnight, forcing it to stop for repairs.
