The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) have entered into a strategic agreement to bolster electricity supply capacity in the Ashanti Region.
The move is aimed to meet the Region's escalating demand for power.
Key decisions include plans to upgrade one of the existing 66MVA transformers with a new 145MVA power transformer between GRIDCo and ECG Bulk Supply Points.
This upgrade will significantly increase installed capacity to address peak load demands, particularly during the evening hours (7pm-11pm).
