Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has called for a thorough investigation into what he describes as a "Rambo-style invasion" of the private residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

In an open letter available to MyNewsGH, Amidu argues that a mere apology from the government is insufficient, insisting that the invasion constitutes a severe breach of the rule of law and fundamental human rights. "The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, can no longer deny that state security operatives invaded Ken Ofori-Atta's home," Amidu stated, referencing CCTV footage released by the media.

The footage, he asserts, disproves the claim by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) that the incident was staged to derail an ongoing investigation into Ofori-Atta.

During a parliamentary session, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga admitted that the raid was led by a National Security official named Richard Jakpa, accompanied by military and police operatives. "We have received assurance from the Office of the National Security Coordinator that it was not intended, and such an occurrence is most regrettable," Ayariga said.
