Some grassroots of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are calling on a deputy Communications Officer of the party, Ernest Owusu-Bempah to contest as National Organiser to enable the party to recapture power in the 2028 general elections.
Kwasi Awuah, a grassroot of the party highlighted the attributes of Owusu-Bempah including his fearlessness which, in his view, can help the NPP withstand any intimidation tactics from the National Democratic Congress (NDC). "I have heard that Owusu-Bempah is going to contest, if he contests that will be good news for the NPP because when we were in opposition the previous time he was one of the people who fought for the NPP to regain power in 2016 elections.
He and Sammi Awuku, David Asante formed the Let My Votes Count Alliance and fought for the NPP to come to power, "He was a key voice behind Akufo-Addo, after that, he helped form AFAG and when the NPP came to power, he also formed the Fixing the Country Movement and advocated for government policies. He is a political strategist, his bold stance, his communication skills and his fearless posture to stand the NDC and deal with the NDC are all attributes we need.
