Acting Director-General, National Road Safety Authority, Abraham Amaliba has backed the Office of the Special Prosecutor's (OSP) declaration of former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta as a fugitive.
Mr.
Amaliba explained that the OSP was right by its action since the lawyers of Ofori-Atta had indicated that the former finance minister was out of the country Indefinitely.
According to Amaliba, the former finance minister was "intransigent" by failing to honour the invitation by the OSP if the narration by the Special Prosecutor and Ken Ofori-Atta's legal team is anything to go by. "So if that is the case and you are a subject matter of a criminal investigation what else do you expect the OSP to do…but if you write a letter as he has indicated that your client is away from home, that you don't know when he's going to come back it is a clear indication of running away from justice so the OSP has every right to declare you as a fugitive," he stated on TV3's New Day, Friday, February 14, 2025.
