The government of Ghana has reassigned Samuel Adom Botchway from the Births and Deaths registry.
The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) declared a nationwide strike action to protest the appointment of Samuel Adom Botchway as Registrar of Births and Deaths Registry.
The decision to strike follows a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on February 11, 2025, which discussed the appointment of a politically exposed person into the Civil Service and Local Government.
The NEC of CLOGSAG decided that if a politically connected appointee is announced to lead the Registry, they will strike.
