The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has confirmed that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta will return to Ghana after completing his medical treatment abroad.
Speaking in Parliament on Thursday, February 13, Mr Afenyo-Markin said he had been in touch with Mr Ofori-Atta, who had assured him of his readiness to cooperate with any investigations upon his return. "If there is anything against any past government official, due process must be followed, and I am sure all of us will have peace," the Minority Leader said.
He also assured the President that the Minority would work with the government when necessary while fulfilling their duties as an opposition caucus.
Mr Afenyo-Markin shared details of his recent conversation with Mr Ofori-Atta, revealing that the former minister is troubled by accusations made against him. "As of this morning, Ken Ofori-Atta informed me that he is traumatised by the labelling that has been ascribed to him, but he still knows that his God is with him.
