Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah is of the firm view that the Office of the Special Prosecutor does not need the presence of Ken Ofori Atta to carry out its investigation.
According to him, per the laws of the country, Ken ofori Atta can choose to appear before the OSP and not utter a word-an indication that his presence will not add anything or take anything out of the investigation.
Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah was speaking on Accra-based Channel 1 TV when he made this position known. "Under the constitution of Ghana, you have the right not to incriminate yourself.
That is why when a policeman confronts you on a matter, he reads you your caution statement that you have the right to remain silent; otherwise, anything you say will be used against you in a court of competent jurisdiction.
