The organizers of Ghana's most prestigious music awards scheme, CharterHouse, introduced the Urban Gospel category in the upcoming 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
The introduction of the Urban Gospel category has generated considerable discussion within the entertainment industry.
Veteran sound engineer Fred Kyei Mensah, better known as Fredyma, has expressed his support for the new gospel category, believing it to be a positive step forward.
In an interview with Hotfmghana.com, Fredyma highlighted the significant progress and contributions of Urban Gospel artists in Ghana over the past year. "This is one of the great news about this year's TGMA…The introduction of the Urban Gospel Category is excellent…So many artists from this genre are going to benefit…It is a very competitive category," Fredyma said.
