The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Frank Abrokwa, has been removed from his position following the violent disruption of the Council of State regional elections in Kumasi.
His removal takes immediate effect, according to sources within the Ghana Police Service.
The decision comes after chaos erupted at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, where a group of thugs stormed the venue, disrupting the electoral process.
The disturbances led to heightened tensions, forcing security officers to intervene.
