Former Power Minister, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, has called for thorough investigations to be conducted by the next administration into judgment debt payment. This was after he criticised the current government for the termination of the contract that resulted in the $111 million judgment debt awarded against Ghana. "Going forward must we allow public officials, either through negligence, incompetence, or sheer insensitivity to incur such costs to Ghana? I will personally want to see the next government and I pray the next government is the NDC, in the unlikely event it is not even the NDC, I want to see this and other judgment debts investigated and public officials held responsible and punished if found culpable," he told Alfred Ocansey on Ghana Tonight on TV3 Wednesday, August 21. Dr Kwabena Donkor further said the government may have realised that it had bad case hence its decision not to defend in the $111 million judgment debt case awarded in favour of Ghana Power Generation Company by the court in the United States.
