A 32-year-old gold dealer Maxwell Boakye has emerged victorious in the Western Region Council of State elections, defeating eight other contestants in a competitive race.

The election, conducted at the Western Regional Coordinating Council, saw 28 delegates casting their votes.

Boakye secured a decisive victory with 17 votes, while his closest competitor, Akwasi Awuah, polled 10 votes.

The third contender, Adjei Clement, managed just one vote.
