Nine candidates are competing in the Western Region's Council of State election, set for February 11.
While only one will be elected by voters, a second representative will later be appointed by President John Mahama to serve the region.
With hopes high among the aspirants, the final result rests on today's polls, decided by a 28-member electoral college comprising two delegates from each of the region's 14 districts.
