A political youth group affiliated with the ruling (NDC), Jaman South NDC Youth for Development, has appealed to His Excellency to ensure that the constituency receives its fair share of political appointments.
Citing the NDC's impressive performance in the 2020 and 2024 elections-which led to the party winning the presidential vote in the constituency for the first time in many years-the group emphasized that their call for representation in government is based on their demonstrated and unwavering commitment to the party.
Speaking at a press conference in Drobo, the Chairman of the group, Stephen Adu Arphul, attributed the party's remarkable performance to the support of stalwarts such as Williams Okofo-Dartey, the former Member of Parliament for the area, who provided resources and logistics for the smooth running of the party's campaign activities. "During the 2020 elections, the NPP secured 29,429 votes, while the NDC received 16,337 votes, a difference of 13,092.
However, in the 2024 general election, the NDC was able to turn things around and win the presidential election in Jaman South for the first time in history.
