President John Mahama has issued a firm warning against corruption, emphasizing that Ghana will no longer tolerate financial mismanagement and the looting of state resources.
His comments follow the submission of a report by the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) team, a task force he set up to trace and reclaim assets allegedly misappropriated under former President Akufo-Addo's administration. "For those who think they can defraud the state and escape justice, let this serve as a strong warning: Ghana is no longer a safe haven for corruption," Mahama declared, reinforcing his administration's commitment to holding individuals accountable.
His stance has reignited discussions about corruption in Ghana, a long-standing issue that has eroded public trust and hindered national development.
While Mahama has promised a crackdown on corruption, many Ghanaians remain cautious, given the country's history of unfulfilled anti-corruption pledges across different administrations.
