The Minister of Transport, Joseph Nikpe Bukari, has announced the commencement of processes to legalize the operations of commercial motorbike riders, commonly known as Okada, in the first quarter of the Mahama government.

During a visit to the head office of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), the minister stated that steps are being taken to amend existing laws to facilitate the successful implementation of the motorbike transport business.

The policy aims to regulate Okada operations as part of efforts to address road congestion. "We made a campaign promise that we are going to regularise the use of motorcycles for commercial purposes.

It is starting today. "We are getting to see what we will do to implement a revision of the law to allow them to operate commercially.
