Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Effutu James Kofi Annan and Independent Parliamentary candidate, Louisa Buabeng have petitioned the Winneba High Court seeking to annul the 2024 parliamentary elections results.
The two have cited irregularities and bias on the part of the Electoral Commission (EC).
James Kofi Annan the first petitioner is seeking the court to annul results from some 96 polling stations claiming that the signatories on the pink sheets are not those of his officially assigned polling agents.
However the second petitioner, Louisa Buabeng, on the other hand, wants the entire results of the parliamentary elections annulled because the EC denied her crucial information about the elections and also polling agents. "We want to expand the frontiers of the law because either than that, these things have future effects not only on the Effutu Constituency but the entire country," Jennifred Maurice Adjei, counsel for the petitioners said to Channel One News.
