The Minority Caucus in Parliament has raised concerns over the continued chairmanship of the Ad-hoc Committee by Emmanuel Bedzrah, indicating that they are awaiting the Speaker's response before proceeding with the Committee's work.
In a memorandum dated 10th February 2025 and addressed to the Chairman of the Committee, Minority Leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin stated that he had officially submitted their concerns to Speaker Bagbin on behalf of the Minority.
He emphasised that their decision should not be misinterpreted as a refusal to engage with the Committee but rather as a step to ensure due process is followed, maintaining fairness, impartiality, and credibility in the Committee's work. "The Minority Caucus considers it prudent to await the Speaker's response before taking any further steps in relation to the Committee's work.
This should not be misconstrued as an unwillingness on the part of the Minority to engage with the Committee.
