The Democracy Hub has welcomed the Attorney General's decision to enter a nolle prosequi in the case against its convenors and members who protested against illegal mining (galamsey).
However, the group insists this does not erase the injustices they endured.
In a statement dated February 7, 2025, the group condemned the violent crackdown, illegal arrests, and inhumane treatment of protestors. "We refuse to accept this decision as the end of the matter.
The violent crackdown on peaceful demonstrators must not be forgotten," the statement read.
