The funeral of 78-year-old Emmanuel Agbozo popularly known as "Nii oo Nii " took a tragic turn on Saturday morning when a violent family clash erupted at the funeral rite in Nkurakan, Yilo Krobo Municipality, Eastern Region.
The chaos forced the police to intervene and escort the deceased's body, which was lying in state, back to a private mortuary at Huhunya a nearby community.
The clash reportedly stemmed from an attempt to prevent one of the deceased's children from participating in the funeral rites.
According to family members, the individual abandoned his now-deceased father during his illness and failed to visit him.
