President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has banned his appointees from flying first class.

He says his government will be known for modesty and respect and that starts with flight taken by appointees.

The President made this known during the swearing in of Ministers ongoing at the seat of government. "Any travel that is deemed essential and necessary must be cleared first with the Office of the Chief of Staff and such travels will have to be taken in modesty no first class," he said.

He further stressed that there would be no room for arrogance or pomposity in his administration. "The resources that ministers will be working with belong to the Ghanaian people who entrusted them with public office," he stated, warning that these resources must not be wasted on extravagance or luxury.
