The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. , has reportedly discontinued the cases of the members of the Democracy Hub who were arrested during the anti-galamsey protest in September 2024.

A post shared by Accra-based TV3 indicated that the Attorney General discontinued the case on Friday, February 7, 2025.

This means that private legal practitioner, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a leading member of the hub, together with Elorm Ama Governor-Ababio (Ama Governor), who is also a lawyer, and media personality, Felicity Nelson, now have the charges against them dropped.

A total of 53 protesters were arrested during the Democracy Hub's protest against illegal mining (galamsey), which occurred from September 21 to September 23, 2024, at the 37 Roundabout in Accra.
