The appointment of Ivorian Philippe Tchere as the new Executive Director of the West African Football Union (WAFU) B has been the driving force behind the most thriving zone in Africa.

The decision has been hailed as a significant game-changer for the sub-regional football body, as it has marked a new era of visibility and development for the zone.

WAFU Zone B, which comprises seven countries including Ghana, Benin, Togo, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Niger, has been an important zone for the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Tchere's leadership has strengthened WAFU B's role in promoting football in the zone, focusing on improved organization, increased media exposure, and stronger partnerships with international stakeholders.
